Added security. A couple of years ago, my dad’s website got hacked. Not only do the hackers eliminate his site, but they also moved his website from his web host and got it over. It took ages for him to prove ownership and get everything back. Whenever your domains are different, if someone gets access to your files even, your domains are safe (supposing you aren’t using the same login and password).
